200 West 72nd Street, the building at the corner of 72nd and Broadway that is close to being finished, has now been dubbed “The Corner” by the marketing gurus in charge of getting the buzz out, Curbed reports. It was already dubbed “200 West”, but perhaps that isn’t doing the trick. Maybe it’s too similar to the headquarters of Goldman Sachs at 200 West (Street). Or maybe they’ve been rattled by some of the negative reviews the building has received.
The new building will be ready for occupancy in “early 2010″, according to a website dedicated to the project. And starting in March, Trader Joe’s is expected to start renovating the retail space at the bottom, as we reported a few weeks ago. The renovation is supposed to end by August, paving the way for an opening in late summer or early fall. Read all of our Trader Joe’s coverage here.
So when we ask you to meet us at “The Corner” in a few months, please don’t ask “which corner?” You should know. (Photo by Avi)
